Saffron “helps prevent sight loss”

Serve up the paella and pilau rice more often, because scientists in the University of L’Aquilla, in Italy have discovered the saffron used in them helps slow down macular degeneration – a condition which affects the sight of about half the population aged 50+.

Saffron is a spice obtained from the stigmas of crocus flowers. Each flower only contains three stigmas, so it is a very expensive spice.

You should also eat plenty of dark green cabbage, which research has already shown can even reverse some of the damage this disease causes.

Fortunately, cabbage is a great deal cheaper than saffron, which not only has a gold color – but, ounce for ounce, costs about the same as gold!

But then, your eyes are beyond price.
